Village Volunteers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works in partnership with rural village and capacity-building
programs to support the development of sustainable solutions for community survival, education, and growth.
Mission of Our Project Placement
To build community capacity for self-help rural enterprise development; to promote
food security, basic education, sustainable livelihoods, environmental conservation, women's empowerment; and to control malaria,
tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and support for people living with AIDS.
Health Sector
Although there is no limit to activities, the following priority areas will be given attention: malaria, tuberculosis,
HIV/AIDS, nutrition, natural medicine, reproductive health, diabetes, glaucoma, and public health awareness.
At the
Have Village medical clinic, volunteers can work in the following departments: O.P.D., Consulting Room, Dispensary, Maternal
and Child Health clinic/Maternity Ward. Volunteers can also register new patients and take records.
HIV/AIDS
The mandate and objectives of the Afram Plains District Health Directorate are the following:

Management of the whole district on health issues, including hospitals and clinics / centers, both public
and private.

Liaisons with other stakeholders such as line departments, government agencies, the private sector, communities,
etc.

Public education and / or the dissemination of information on contagious diseases and their control.

Organization of regular immunizations of children in the district.

Coordination of stakeholder activities in health delivery services.

Monitoring and evaluation of health projects / programs in the district.
- Complete statistics on all aspects of diseases in the district.
- Preparation of annual budgets and reports to the Regional Health Directorate.
