Jason is currently the Program Coordinator of an HIV Couneling and Testing program located in South Eastern
Massachusetts. The program works to provide individuals with the information and resources needed to make their own informed
decisions to help protect themselves and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other STDs. We provide free anonymous counseling
and testing, comprehensive community-based prevention and testing services, as well as advocacy and referrals to local community
agencies based on individual risk-assessment sessions with each client.
Prior Jason was the Coordinator for a Prevention
and Education program. This program was built from the ground up and has since become a model program for the state of Massachusetts. The
objective was to support the growth of an active and healthy community while providing peer-to-peer counseling sessions
to address questions around safer sex practices within various social events, fun educational workshops. The program had many
different aspects and continued to grow. Our Mobile Outreach was unexpectedly successfull on many different levels. Individual
or small group HIV/AIDS educational encounters were conducted in venues to engage members of the priority population in further
public health interventions. My staff which consisted of peers and paraprofessionals as well as myself conducted in a
targeted and consistent manner face-to-face high-risk individual assesments in the clients' neighborhood or other areas where
the clients typically congregated and where they may have engaged in high-risk behavior.
The main objective of our outreach was to have a second encounter, to build trust and credibility with the client,
and to furthur engage clients around prevention related issues through repeat contact.
Jason is also an accomplised actor and artist and would like to educate and empower through the arts.
